Note: Phase I is where students start in the program by being paired with a tutor to help with Math and/or English. Phase II is the second and last part of the program where students learn executive functioning skill and explained on this page.

 

What is Phase II?

Phase II is the last part of SBC in which the student must practice and master executive functioning skills in order to graduate from the program.

How to be a part of Phase II?

Once an SBC enrollee can consistently earn passing grades (<70% or a 3-4) in all their classes for at one academic year, they will transition into Phase II.

What is learned in Phase II?

Buddies will shift to learning and practicing 3 executive functioning skills during their tutoring sessions. These skills are :

  1. Time Management

  2. Effective Communication

  3. Goal Setting

How long do Phase II last?

Students will work on these 3 skills for 1 academic year to develop academic independence. At the end of the year, student will graduate from SBC and stop receiving our services.
